As one of the first male influencers to be the face of a global makeup brand, Manny Gutierrez redefined the makeup industry. In 2018 came the announcement of his own makeup brand, Lunar Beauty, through a social post and debut of the brand logo. After months of anticipation and listening to Manny’s message behind what he wanted this brand to communicate, I didn’t believe the logo he debuted with fully represented the vision Manny had in mind. After posting the sketches of a potential logo re-design on social media and tagging Manny, he responded with much interest and gave me the go ahead to send some more sketches over, which in turn, sparked the beginning of the Lunar Beauty rebrand.

Manny wanted this new logo to embody his love for all things ethereal; while also making it clean, legible, and universal in terms of working across multiple aesthetics since his “out of this world” beauty brand would showcase different and dramatic packaging launch to launch.

Ultimately, we landed on a clean, sophisticated, and unique wordmark with optional embellishments dependent on use case. He was ecstatic with the new direction and implemented it to be the face of Lunar Beauty that still stands strongly today.
